Portrait of a Woodpecker, by Lesley Teare
While you may know Lesley Teare for her Cross stitch and Blackwork designs, she is also an expert birdwatcher - and it shows when she tackles the complex work of creating a portrait of a woodpecker, more often heard than seen, as it hammers a half rotten tree trunk, searching for food by chasing out surprised insects. Lesley Teare Bird SALs
2024 is an exciting year for stitchers with two year-long Stitch-along patterns by Lesley Teare. Attentive to stitchers preferences, she has completed two different designs, one with birds native to North America, the other to the British Isles. You can now stitch either pattern, or decide to do both!
A keen observer of birds, the designer has rendered them in lovely bright colors and rich detail.
The two first parts of each SAL is now available and here is a sneak preview of the first birds.
The next parts will be released as of March 1st 2024.

Christmas in the Woods
Lesley Teare's latest cross stitch release pictures all the woodland animals busying themselves in preparation for the Christmas party. The owl, reindeer and deer are dressed in their finest attire, the rabbit and squirrel are bringing gifts and ornaments while the robin entertains them all with cheerful Christmas carols.
Wildflower season, by Lesley Teare Designs
In the manner of botanical plates, complete with their Latin names, here are four pretty wildflowers - columbine, pansy, meadow geranium and bellflower - in a richly detailed chart by Lesley Teare.

Love knots are symbols of the unbreakable bond between lovers. Architecture and Styles
Designed by Lesley Teare, here are two new samplers paying tribute to different architectural styles.
The first one to late 18th century England when Georgian architectural changed the face of town and country. Four stately homes are pictured in the all-season sampler.
The second sampler is a tribute to the Shaker style of living and features the characteristic dwellings of Shaker communities established in North America.
Spring is in the air
How better to convey the feeling of spring than with this lovely pale yellow contrasting against the darker natural background. This pattern is part of a series of four, one for each season. Watch out for the next releases. A cross stitch design by Lesley Teare.

One flower, one bird, two designs
When you first see this new release by Lesley Teare, you might wonder if you have seen this little bird before? Well you have! The existing pattern is the Blackwork design, while the new pattern is the cross stitch version. The flowers have acquired a wonderful blue hue and this time the flowers are fitted in a circular frame of smaller flowers. Now it's yours to choose which of the two patterns you'd like to stitch.
