Sweet little patterns celebrating the simple pleasures of life: enjoying breakfast on the balcony, growing seedlings and enjoying coffee with a friend. We love the "two pictures in one" effect of the later, with a liliputian scene and oversize spring flowers, as if expressing the joy of being outdoor after a long winter (our designer is from Canada!).
Pottering in the Garden (and a nice chat with one's neighbor)
The simple joys of life, such as watering the plants and chatting with the nice lady next door, captured in cross stitch by Samantha Purdy. The young designer has been designing these spare, contemporary style patterns for a last couple of years, gradually building a wonderful collection of snapshots of life's happy moments.
It looks like it will continue to snow overnight ....
What a treat to cross stitch Samantha Purdy's patterns, with a streamlined, contemporary look, yet full of evocative details, where just two small window panes already half covered in snow can suggest so much.
We love the fhe final touch too, with a band of vintage trimming to evoke the thick layer of fallen snow.

After the Harvest
The night is quiet, the moon is out, ducks are patrolling the yard. What a nice feeling to know the work is done, and one can really relax and enjoy a nice peaceful time. A cross stitch pattern by Samantha Purdy Needlecraft.
Samantha Purdy captures in cross stitch the little simple joys of life, such as spotting the early fallen leaves in the yard, and grabbing the old broom. Concise and to-the-point, the designer only retains the most essential elements in her charts, but yet they tell a full story: the main door with its letterbox and sheer white curtain visible behind the panes, the apron with a motif evocative of home, the red cardinal perched on an already barren plant and signalling the arrival of colder days.
Such as watching dandelion seeds blow of in the wind, or sitting on a bench watching the birds. Or cooking a big pasta pot for friends who turn up unexpected. Three charming new releases by Samantha Purdy.

Designer Samantha Purdy has this special talent of capturing, in the most simple ways, the essential joys of life, such as gathering with friends on a dark winter night and singing carols in front of a Christmas tree.

Creative Poppy is proud to introduce the works of Samantha Purdy, a young Canadian designer with a very modern and contemporary approach to cross stitching. Her designs stand out with their funny little characters, and minimalist style. Everything in Samantha Purdy designs seems to have been reduced its most simple form, yet if you look close, you will find plenty of amusing detail.
Take Samantha Purdy's characters. The main one is a little lady with a bun on her head. She's the one also featured in the Samanthapurdytextile iconic cup. You'll see this lady pottering around, watering plants, cleaning the house, baking cakes and getting snacks ready for guests. She's never far from her stove as she obviously loves cooking, as well as tending to her beloved plants.

The fun is in comparing each apartment. Check out the bookworm's flat with a shelf full of books and withering plant. Or the various tiles in the bathrooms, wall paper and quilts on the beds. Each apartment has its own personality. If you're feeling creative, you could even decide to personalize your own.
