Twelve Days of Christmas (Red background)

This is the designer's second take on the much beloved Christmas rhyme and song, this time on a bold red background. The previous cross stitch chart is divided into 12 separate images.

This pattern is by contrast created as a single piece, with an interesting frame shape forming an arch at the top. Each rhyme is stitched in golden thread and is beautifully illustrated by Lesley Teare in cheerful color stitches. 

Our favourite motifs include all the birds (partridge, dove, hen, geese, calling birds, swan) and the pipes and drumm.

Kreinik Braid #4 metallic Gold is used throughout the design to emphasize the festive feel.

The pattern includes some fractional stitches for detail. A tutorial is included with the chart for all stitches.
