Capturing the moment
Hanging upside down, tilting forward, swinging their head backwards, these birds remain steadily balanced. It takes a designer a huge amount of talent and skill to capture these birds in cross stitch, as a photographer would do in the wild. Designer Perrette Samouiloff does so with seemingly little effort, adding her special touch, a mastery of color that emphasizes the contrast between the natural colors of the birds and the soft smokey blues used for the children's clothes.

Love knots are symbols of the unbreakable bond between lovers. K's Studio
Creative Poppy is proud to welcome K's Studio, very much inspired by nature and the seasons. Her motto is "another day, another stitch", each day bringing more poetic images she feels the urge to transpose into needlework, a stitch at a time.
This pattern is dedicated to an old friend, a very old cherry tree that grows in front of her window and when, year after year, a little miracle occurs and the venerable old branches suddenly burts into bloom.
Celebrating O-Hanami (cherry blossom viewing)
Every year the Japanese celebrate the blossoming of cherries trees, gathering with friends for picnics and parties until late into the night under the pink blossoms.
Huge festivals take place, with food stalls selling all kinds of food. There's even a special name for it: O-Hanami (the viewing of Cherry Blossoms). Even in large cities such as Tokyo, women will sometimes wear beautiful kimonos with elegant spring patterns.
You too can celebrate O-Hanami with these pretty designs stuffed with lots of interesting detail.
