There is an interesting contrast of scale in this cross stitch pattern, as if there were two pictures in one.

Two lilliputian characters, friends enjoying coffee together, are out in the garden and enjoying the warmer weather. They are featured in lovely detail including the expresso coffee pot and the steam raising from their cups. The cat looks on, a bird sings in the distance.

By contrast the flowers in the background - lilly of the valley, daffodils and tulips -  are pictured oversize, as if to express the overwhelming feelings brought by the arrival of spring.
