Panoply of Posies
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Tempting Tangles
Designer Deborah A. Dick of Tempting Tangles tells of her inspiration for Panoply of Posies:
"A garden delights in Quaker style motifs with a history, this design has been inspired by collections of antique geometric motifs gathered a century ago from needlework found in rural cottage households in Switzerland.
These beautiful floral figures are reminiscent of wild flowers, ferns, herbs and grasses that blanket the meadows and hills of the alpine meadows."
Creative Poppy says:
Early protestant immigrants to the US, fleeing persecution from England, but also from Switzerland and Germany, brought with them a rich culture of embroidery and needlework. Motifs were passed on from mother to daughter on both continents. It only make sense that these designs originating from Switzerland and early American samplers share many similarities.
Designer Deborah A. Dick from Tempting Tangles made a beautiful job of putting them all together. It's such an elegant Sampler, we love it!
Designer tip:
"This design is also lovely if stitched in monochrome, or with the triangle corners in any alternating colors of your choice."
The mostly cross stitch chart comes with both a color overview chart, and a detailed black and white chart. The design includes a couple of rice stitches with detailed instructions.
