Autumn nodding
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Tempting Tangles
There is fantastic light and color in this cross stitch design created by Tempting Tangles and reflecting the atmosphere on windy moors under menacing skies.
The pattern is inspired by a poem by 18th century Scottish poet James Thomson and is quoted at the top in gothic script:
Autumn nodding over the yellow plain
The design's layout is in the manner of a Medieval illuminated manuscript, with the top quote and lower border motif framing the main picture. In the foreground a tree with a long branch further structures the work.
A red fox and a couple of quails can be seen in the foreground, cattle graze in the field, migrating geese fly past. Far afield lie a couple of houses.
