October - Homespun Oak
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Gracewood Stitches
Homespun Oak is for October and is the fourth design in Gracewood Stiches' calendar collection of patterns.
The design is a combination of an oak leaf and acorn motif over a rustic Tartan pattern evocative of home-spun wool. I comes in lovely shades of honey and amber with fine red lines providing contrast.
The design is done in the Asissi style of cross stitch where only the background is stitched and the motif is left empty, with the ecru background fabric appearing in the empty spaces.
Alternatively, the design can be worked in needlepoint using an off white wool for filling in the blanks of the motifs.
