"I designed this little flamingo sampler, sprinkling an alphabet in between, and varied the surrounding borders slightly to make it fun to stitch, which adds to the exotic feel. I love hot and cold shades together in a design, and here, the hot pinks work well against the pale grey and blue and the soft green."

There is an interesting mirror effect in this charming little sampler: note the symetry of the birds, both flamingos and parrots, and the row of hearts that form the central axis.
