Old-fashioned roses and monograms
Here is a superb cross stitch project designed by Perrette Samouiloff. It draws its inspiration from old garden roses, the ones with flowers turning from pink to yellow.
A beautiful alphabet of monograms comes with the chart, letting you to personalize the stitch piece, a perfect gift for a wedding, a wedding anniversary. Mounted as a cushion, t will make an elegant piece of decoration at the head of a bed or on an old armchair.

La vie de château
Designer Perrette Samouiloff is passionate about costumes. For us cross stitchers, she imagines a scene at the French court, that of the young King Louis XIV (the future Sun King), at the time when the Marquise de Montespan became his favorite. Men wear wigs and heels. The king is in full discussion with his architect, planning the sumptuous château of Versailles. In the center of the room is a standing globe, typical of the time. On the right, a young woman plays with a small dog, perhaps trying to attract the attention of the king?
Let's skip a century. We are now in the splendor of the Palace of Versailles, in the middle of the 18th century, under the reign of Louis XV. In the royal galleries and the park there are numerous entertainments and games, conversation and gallant meetings ....

Creative Poppy Designers in the news
Designer Perrette Samouiloff is in the spotlight with this beautiful book published by Nihon Vogue - Japan. The book is a series of portraits of needlework designers photographed in their home (mostly Japanese and French designers). As far as we know its only published in Japanese but the pictures speak for themselves.
You can check out Perrette Samouiloff in her own workshop, in her house on the outskirts of Paris. We highly recommend this book for anyone who loves creating needlework projects and is looking to create a perfect workshop or den.

Grow your own vegetable patch We were delighted to receive this new pattern by Perrette Samouiloff because it triggered so many project ideas. Each little motif is easy to place according to your own constraints, depending what you want to stitch. You can make a recipe book cover, or space out the motif on a shopping bag (great for the farmer's market!). If you've got little ones around, you can stitch different baby bibs and place mats (they will all fight for the carrots!). Or you could stitch it as it is, beautiful in any case.
