The Christmas Present
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff

This little square pattern is worked in cross stitch in three shades of color: a solid "Egyptian red", DMC 347, with a slight touch of salmon, and two shaded threads, DMC Variations 4190 (that varies from pink to orange), and 4210 (in bright red to claret). The combination of these 3 shades creates a lovely vibration of colors.

The central motif features a little boy carrying a large beribboned gift, delighted with the gifts he has just received for Christmas: a horse on wheels, a trumpet, a puppet, a teddy bear and an electric train. 

Two opposite corners are filled with triangles of delicate lace motifs, in the lighter DMC Variations thread. Finally, a wreath, hearts and star motifs complete the picture.

Creative Poppy tip:

When working with shaded, overdyed or multicolor floss, in order to accentuate the differences in shade, work one full cross stitch at a time (not rows of half-stitch going "back and forth")
