Brown hares are amazingly discreet and cautious animals. Come spring however, and March, their mating season, the animals' behaviour changes suddenly and they can be spotted chasing each other and even fighting each other in a "boxing" position. Hence the expression "Mad as a March hare".
A keen observer of nature, designer Lesley Teare brings us a wonderful portrait of two March hares against a backdrop of large yellow and white flowers.
