Here's the African Beauty, Lesley Teare's cross stitch portrait of a young African woman, accompanied by a gazelle.

The design is particularly elegant with the figure gracefully leaning forward, her long neckline and shoulders contrasting with the bright print dress. Her head is draped in a matching turban and she is wearing large jewelry pieces such as gold bracelets, a pendant and round earings.

The silhouette of her face is particularly graceful, a fine line designed in much detail, in a combination of fractional stitches. So are her eyes, which somehow reflect those of the animal. There are some metallic highlights and beads adding extra texture to the stitched piece.
