Sassy Thistle - Long & Short stitch Masterclass
NEEDLEWORKPATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Faby Reilly Designs
For her latest masterclass, designer Faby Reilly picked the thistle, emblem of Scotland, and framed within a matching tartan motif. The needlework pattern is used to introduce us to very useful specialty stitch - the long and short stitch. You will be able to practice this stitch guided by Faby Reilly's excellent tutorials.
The Long and short stitch is a handy embroidery stitch that can be used for filling areas such as leaves and petals of flowers. The design includes some counted Long and short stitches, used for the green bulb of the thistle, and more random stitches in the flower, over a cross stitch base.
This masterclass is intermediate level.
A tutorial is included with the chart for all specialty stitches.
