Violet Biscornu
COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART BY FABY REILLY DESIGNS
The focus of Faby Reilly's new study of a flower is the humble violet, the one that grows in the wild on the side of paths or in the shade of trees. And we really believe the designer does a fantastic job of capturing in stitches the delicate nature of the tiny flower, the subtle shadings of the petals ranging from purple to dark lilac and forming such an attractive contrast with the green leaves.
The biscornu shape is stitched on both sides, allowing the lower part of the pattern to show in the angles, as if in a mirror effect.
Step by step instructions for mounting the biscornu come with the design. There is also a tutorial for making the tiny felt flower that comes in the center of the biscornu (or could be replaced by a bead or a button).
