This cross stitch chart is all about maternal love, with a mother hen tenderly tilting her head towards her baby chick.

There is beautiful movement in the design with the main motif occupying only half of the picture diagonally and the hen's tail pointing strikingly upwards. The backdrop is filled with letters and tiny flowers, polka-dot style.

There are two options for cross stitching the base of the pattern. The English version "mom and me" or the original French version "maman-poule". The latter has a double meaning, both of mother-hen and an expression signifying a protective and caring mother.

The pattern, with dominant colors of white and garnet on a linen background, will be quite decorative in a kitchen. The chart can also be used for decorating an apron pocket or baby's tote bag.
