Light purple iris

A cross stitch design based on a watercolour by artist Marie-Claude Fontaine. There are three irises by the artist (a pale, a light and a bright purple one), so you could in fact stitch all three and frame them side by side.

 

The characteristic colors and fragile petals of the iris are beautifully rendered, as well as the soft watercolor effect. The design involves quite a lot of colors and detail, but certainly well worth the effort.
