Country Folk Sampler
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Lesley Teare Designs
Brought to you by Lesley Teare, this beautiful cross stitch piece, initially available as an SAL, features country folk at different times of the year, some selling their produce (honey, eggs, fruit and veggies), other tending to their animals or harvesting in the fields.
As the pattern follows the seasons, and there are 12 separate images in total, you can decide to stitch one pattern per month. Alternatively, why not stitch each monthly motif separately and rotate them as you display them in you home.
The fabric that was selected for stitching, Light Mocha Cashel linen from Zweigart, lends a natural look to the piece and suits the theme quite well. Feel free to make your own choice of colors though as Lesley Teare's bright palette will stand out against most fabrics.
The cross stitch pattern includes small areas worked in backstitch, a couple of French knots (which you can substitute with seed beads) as well as some fractional stitches for detail. A tutorial is included with the chart for all stitches.
