Here is a beautiful project for a child to learn to cross stitch. It's a gorgeous strawberry design with lovely appealing DMC colors. The child-friendly pattern and instructions are beautifully laid out, and the project includes detailed step by step pictures for both stitching and completing the project.
This small cushion is reversible (the chart includes the strawberry flower pattern on the reverse). It is the perfect size for making a dollshouse bed cushion (see picture opposite) or a small pincushion for a child's first sewing kit.
The flower pattern on the reverse is slightly more complex. Depending on the age and ability of the child, you might want to assist her for completing the backstitch.
