My favorite Apron
COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART BY BARBARA ANA DESIGNS
"I cannot count my day complete t'il needle, thread and fabric meet"
This saying has inspired Barbara Ana to design this primitive folk art style motif with a very interesting combination of subdued earth tones contrasting with a touch of bright and cheerful colors.
The pattern is designed to be stitched with overdyed threads with both the brown dress and the blue apron stitched vertically. This adds extra dimension and texture to the stitched piece. For the apron, first the motifs are stitched, then the background is filled with Valdani Primitive blue.
The design (pictured) was stitched on 40 ct natural linen, using 1 strand over two threads. You can therefore stitch it on any fabric of your choice, including Aida.
