In the center of this cross stitch piece are a pair of visiting redwings feeding on wildgrass seeds. The swan glides silently across the pond, a wild pigeon flies over the marshland while the lone night owl looks on. Fluttering in the bushes and gorging on berries are the other winter birds, the red robin, the thrush  and the longtailed tit.

Designer Lesley Teare is both a very experienced cross stitch designer and a dedicated bird watcher. This pattern is an exceptional piece that all bird lovers will appreciate. It's part of a series , with a different design for each season:
