Beautiful feathers adorn this pair of 'Love Birds' and are tremendous fun to cross stitch. You can use the 8 floss colors selected by Alessandra Adelaide but why not pick your own and make this needlework design truly unique?
This pattern would also look well in 'semi-monochrome', i.e. using several shades of a same color.
Creative Poppy tip: why not use variegated floss, which changes color every 12 inch or so. Cut and sort lengths of floss into light/medium and dark sections, then pick the areas of the pattern you want to stitch with each color. They will form a beautiful harmony.
