Here's Shades of Jade in  the new Traces of Lace collection by Gracewood Stitches.

It features a lace motif stitched in the Assisi technique on a green background formed with two different shades of green jade.

The Assisi technique leaves the main motif blank while the surrounding background is filled with color cross stitch. The motif therefore shows through, in the color of the original fabric (here white).

The Traces of Lace series feature various lace motifs on different color backgrounds. The designs are all the same size so you can to stitch a pair or a series (such as cushions, of framed displays). Designer, Kathy Bungard, mounted her stitched work into a patchwork to hang on a wall and offers a tutorial with the cross stitch chart.
