The Only Gift
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Tempting Tangles
Deborah A. Dick of Tempting Tangles says this about the inspiration for the design:
American philosopher, poet and essayist, Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) offered this thoughtful statement in his Essay, “Gifts”.
“The only gift is a portion of thyself”.
This seemingly simple statement is in fact, one of great insight and depth of meaning. Such an offering is truly the most precious of all gifts.
This pattern captures the true Christmas spirit and is a good reminder of what Christmas is really about. Simple and sober, yet quite decorative, the pattern is cross stitched in only 3 colors. There are a couple of specialty stitches used for the borders, including some satin fans and herringbone stitches. Detailed instructions are included with the chart.
