Creation
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Tempting Tangles
Designer Deborah A. Dick of Tempting Tangles tells of her inspiration for Creation:
"This amazing piece was stitched on 26 count raw linen and then painstakingly charted from the finished work. Creation stirs both imagination and emotions with its swirling palette of storm cloud and sunrise colors. Uses 31 colors of DMC cotton floss."
Creative Poppy says:
Rarely has a piece of needlework expressed so effectively the dramatic story of Creation. We love the rendering of the burning sun, the lovely detail in the stylised sea (including tiny scallops and star fish and snails), as well as the hovering twirling skies, in the middle of which one can spot "God's eye".
The full Bible quote stitched on the piece is:
"In the beginning, God created the Heavens and the Earth.
Now the Earth was without form, and void,
and darkness was on the face of the deep.
And the Spirit of God was hovering on the water.
And God said: Let there be Light. And there was Light"
In addition to the cross stitch parts, there is extensive use of specialty stitches, some of them very creative such as the sealife mentionned above. Because of the number of colors, and for better ease of reading, this chart is provided in COLOR. There are very detailed instructions describing all specialty stitches.
