La vie de chateau - Life at the court of Versailles II - 18th century
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Perrette Samouiloff
In eighteenth century France, under the reign of Louis XV, the court of Versailles is sumptuous with festivities, promenades in the park, and dinner parties. The king surrounds himself with many courtiers and a favorite, the Marquise de Pompadour, exerts a great influence, in particular as a patron of the arts. It is for her that the King will build the little Trianon, a small chateau within the park grounds.
This charming cross stitch piece illustrates life at the court in the large galleries of the palace: gallant meetings, games and entertainment as well as costumes characteristic of the time.
