Merry Christmas
COUNTED CROSS STITCH PATTERN BY MURIEL BERCEVILLE
This pattern took its inspiration from an old German Folk motif. The designer is a keen collector of antique samplers - many of which she has reproduced as charts - and that influence shows in her own designs.
We love the sober but joyful simplicity of this design, bright stars shining in the sky above the tree on a cold night while only two - but how precious - gifts await the children when they rise. Real candles -as used to be the tradition - are the only ornaments on the trees.
This cross stitch pattern was stitched this piece on a 32ct chocolate-color linen, using one single strand of Soie d’Alger Silk from the “Au ver à soie” range and stitched over one thread.
The chart includes both the English (Merry Christmas) and the French (Joyeux Noël) versions.
