List of designers' webshops

While Creative Poppy is now closed, this is not the end of the story, we hope!

Indeed most of our cross stitch designers have found publishers or are opening their own online shops and their designs live on.

I would be terribly sad if stitchers could not find patterns to stitch by their favorite designers.

Here is a list of websites where you will be able to purchase charts in downloadable format*, directly from the designer, and to follow and support their work.

When not available we are providing alternative links to their publishers or to a list of books they have published.

* for identical designs, chart format may differ from the one available on Creative Poppy

Cross stitch patterns by Barbara AnaBarbara Ana Designs

Barbara Ana needs no introduction to stitchers; her talent and creativity have influenced cross-stitch design worldwide. And yet, it was as a young cross stitch enthusiast that she joined Creative Poppy right from the start. We are proud to have supported her throughout this wonderful career.

While strongly influenced by her Spanish homeland, Barbara Ana follows her whims, and it is thanks to her extraordinary creativity that she has come up with some of the most extraordinary patterns ever available in cross stitch. Long live Barbara Ana patterns!

Barbara Ana has already opened a webshop on the Ko-Fi platform, where she has continued to design with her usual creativity and you will already find many awesome new patterns. Existing patterns will be added soon.

cross stitch patterns by Tapestry BarnTapestry Barn

England is home to Tapestry Barn, a young and dynamic mother of two who still finds time between her job and family duties to indulge in her passion, creating her own cross stitch works. We love her pragmatic and modern approach to stitching, with always the finished object in mind when she embarks on a new design. All her patterns are available on Etsy.

cross stitch patterns by Riverdrift HouseRiverdrift House

Based on the mouth of a river flowing into the Cornish Sea - hence the name, Riverdrift House, here is a mother and daughter team, where the mother designs and the daughter runs their kit business.

Fundamentally attached to British traditions, Riverdrift House excels at depicting the awesome estates that dot the countryside, including the home of Jane Austen or the palaces of the Royal family.

For the moment, Riverdrift House is selling kits only, but they are planning to add downloads soon.

Cross stitch patterns by Lesley Teare DesignsLesley Teare Designs

Definitely an expert, covering both Cross stitch and Blackwork, Lesley Teare is a leading figure in British needlework design. Her interests and creations are very varied, covering many styles from William Morris to country-folk, but her greatest passion is the birds she observes daily in the English countryside.

Cross stitch patterns by Faby Reilly DesignsFaby Reilly Designs

Faby Reilly is so passionate about needlework, no stitch holds any secrets for her, and magazines regularly ask her to contribute her "Master classes". She has perfected the fusion between cross stitch and other specialty stitches, paving the way for enthusiast stitchers to move on to other, more varied projects.

Faby Reilly's finishing, like anything she does, is extraordinarily meticulous. Guided by her excellent tutorials and detailed step-by-step instructions, don't hesitate to explore some stitches beyond cross-stitch. Not only will you be guaranteed to reproduce exactly the pattern shown, but your finished piece will also be flawless.

Perfectly bilingual (French/English), Faby Reilly has her own website, and all her designs are also available in the language of your choice.

Cross stitch patterns by Katheryna Stitchy PrincessKateryna - Stitchy Princess

We were deeply moved when Kateryna, a young Ukrainian designer then based in Kherson, reached out to us. It was the early days of the war, and Russian troops were invading the city. While it was clear we had to help her, we were struck by the originality of her folk and slavic inspired cross stitch patterns.

With the war sadly still ravaging the country, we hope you will continue to support this courageous designer and stitch her very unique designs.

Cross stitch patterns by Lilli VioletteLilli Violette

Tania, the Italian designer behind Lilli Violette loves to stitch brightly colored designs on natural linen fabric. One of her signature motifs is random polka dots, often in white against a contrasting color.

Her amazing collection of designs is available in her Etsy shop.

Reproduction sampler by Couleur TourterelleCouleur Tourterelle

Meriem Chauvet, the artist, and stitcher behind the Couleur Tourterelle brand is a passionate collector of French and European samplers ranging from the early 19th century to the early 20th. Over the years, she has acquired and painstakingly recharted an amazing selection of vintage samplers, enabling us stitchers to reproduce, stitch by stitch, some exceptional samplers of yore.

We are really happy that the designer came to the decision to open a webshop so that her remarkable collection of Reproduction Samplers, including all the research surrounding the piece, will continue to be available to all.

Perrette Samouiloff

Her style is inimitable, perfectly evoking the tenderness of childhood and imbued with nostalgia.

The designer left the Creative Poppy website a few months ago. Her patterns are now sold, in downloadable format, by Cesar Editions.

Sylvie Teytaud

Immerse yourself in the enchanting world of Sylvie Teytaud, a charming and feminine world, full of delicacy, populated by fairies, elves, and children, laughter and innocence. Nature and flowers play a significant role, much to our delight.

Cross stitch patterns by Samantha Purdy NeedlecraftsSamantha Purdy Needlecrafts

What we love about this young Canadian designer is her approach to cross stitch, her contemporary style, but also her humanity. Samantha Purdy's immense talent lies in capturing slices of life, simple moments of happiness, with just a couple of stitches.

Samantha Purdy's patterns are now available in her Etsy shop.

Cross stitch patterns by Shannon Christine DesignsShannon Christine Designs

Also Canadian, Shannon Christine is an incurable romantic, living in her own very feminine and refined world, populated by dancers, princesses, and fortune tellers. Her patterns are amazingly intricate, filled with beads and metallic threads, and—while you'll need a bit of concentration and expertise to complete them—you'll be blown away by the finished result!

Shannon Christine runs here own website:

Cross stitch patterns by Gracewood StitchesGracewood Stitches

The designer is based in a rugged and remote area of the Rocky Mountains. Gracewood is the name of her home, where she lives with her husband and animals. The snow takes forever to melt, and winter lingers. But the designer finds escape through her art. One of our favorite designs is The Heart Note, a stitch that evokes the richness of a fragrance.

Gracewood Stitches are available through her publisher, Everything cross stitch

Cross stitch patterns by Tiny ModernistTiny Modernist

The designer is based in California, and, as its name suggests, Tiny Modernist has a deliberately modern approach to cross stitch, appealing to stitchers willing to explore new horizons. Who else would have included a pattern related to a box of sushi or a scene of the South West desert applied on a biscornu?

Tiny Modernist runs her own webshop.

French designers:

Sadly, the works by these well-known French designers are no longer available in downloadable format, but their designs have been published in numerous books. These are in French but this should be no barrier to cross stitchers. All floss colors will be DMC. Here are a couple of their publications (links to French websites)

Cross stitch patterns by Marie-Anne Rethoret

Marie-Anne Réthoret happily recreates embroidery patterns, particularly fond of red, her favorite color, and variegated threads. Her strong point: the finishing touches, for which she displays remarkable creativity.

The designer doesn't (yet?) have a website, but is published by Mango Editions, with recently AbecedariesBon Appétit, and Jolis Motifs a book with Aurelle and Perrette Samouiloff. She has published  numerous works in the past some of which are unfortunately out of print but available second-hand.

Agnès Delage-Calvet, a renowned needlework expert who has published numerous embroidery books, many of which are unfortunately out of print today. She collaborated regularly in magazines and for DMC collections. Lately she has explored other techniques, applying her artistic and handy-craft skills.

Agnès has created her own website showcasing all of her work. She plans to later add the cross-stitch patterns she created for Creative Poppy.

Monique Bonnin, painter, illustrator, photographer and stitcher, is fascinated by images and curious about everything. Her specialty: Vintage-style embroidered postcards, tinged with nostalgia: These postcard-sized charts are cross-stitched and embellished with sequins, beads, or gold thread.

Monique Bonnin does not have her own website, but she has published numerous works, including the following recent publications.

Monique Bonnin publishes with Mango Editions Flowers (with Véronique Enginger and Corine Lacroix) and Enchanted Embroidery (a collection of female artists). And at Chez César editions, 15 vintage tea towels (Monique Bonnin) and Antique tableware (collective of female creators). She is also the author of numerous other works, unfortunately out of print but available secondhand.

Her famous collection of embroidered postcards is not currently available, but we hope it will be published soon.
