Wildflowers
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Lesley Teare Designs
In the manner of a botanical plate, complete with full latin name, cross stitch designer Lesley Teare captures the essence of four wildflowers, found commonly in meadows and gardens. Each are better known as geranium, pansy, bellflower or columbine.
Each flower is depicted in intricate detail, rendering their frail petals, their rich heart with delicate pistils and the fragile stems bearing their weight.
Colors are subtle and beautifully picked, with the blue of the wild geranium tinted with purple contrasting with the more homogeneous columbine, and differing violets for the bellflowers and pansies.
The motifs can be stitched side by side or individually. A separate chart is also provided for each flower together with detail zooms in intricate areas (hearts of the flowers)
The cross stitch chart only contains full cross stitches, with some backstitch and French knot detail. A tutorial is included with the chart for all stitches.
French knots used for stamen could be substituted with seed beads.
