Snowdrop
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Lesley Teare Designs
When the first snowdrops appear in the garden, you can tell that winter is coming to an end and that spring is not far away. This cross stitch pattern shows a small "terra cotta" terracotta pot with a bouquet of snowdrops full of freshness, forming a nice contrast of colors.
The design featured is cross stitched on a white fabric background. As the entire surface of the petals is stitched, you could work on another colored fabric, a natural linen or a light blue, yellow or green pastel fabric. If so, do a test first to check the coverage and make a decision to work in 2 or 3 strands.
Back stitch is widely used in this design to outline the shapes of flowers. There are however no fractional stitches, only full cross stitch.
The chart by Lesley Teare Designs comes with a Cross stitch Guide.
