This cross stitch pattern by Lesley Teare features 9 spring wildflowers displayed in little squares, "patchwork" style. The flowers include bluebells, pansies, violets, lily of the valley, primroses, as well as blackberries and strawberries, with flowers and fruit beginning to ripen.

Each motif is contained in a "box", with a chain style green frame. This means that you can also stitch a single motif and use it (of reuse it) as a greeting card for instance. Also, the separate motifs mean that you can stitch one at a time, at your leisure.

The stitched piece will look stunning when frame, or could also be used as a centerpiece for a cushion cover. You could also stitch table mats with matching napkins, each with it's sepcif spring flower.

The piece does not include any fractional stitches, meaning you can cross stitch on any fabric of your choice, including linen and evenweave. You can also use a color background, even a dark one, as the colors of all flowers are fully filled, including the white lily of the valley. If using a darker color, depending on your fabric count, you may consider using 3 strands to ensure perfect coverage.
