A full length portrait of a mermaid, floating almost motionless in the sea, surrounded by seahorses. At the foot of her tail, two little water nymphs keep her company.

The mermaid's hair, as well as the ribbon that embellish her corset, float freely in this underwater scene. Bubbles move toward the surface and seaweed grows among the sandy rocks.

The mermaid is cross stitched in beautiful detail, her face exquisitely depicted. Metallic threads and seedbeads embellish the work. There are some fractional stitches used, especially for the body of the mermaid. The whole work is stitched in a beautiful harmony of brown, blue and aqua.
