Georgian Garden Sampler
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Lesley Teare Designs
Georgian England ranges from 1714 to 1830 and is named after the Hanoverian Kings George I, George II, George III and George IV. Characteristic of the Georgian architexture are the stately, elegantly proportioned houses of the times .
In this charming and understated sampler, designer Lesley Teare features four of these homes, one for each season. The pattern is divided in four with an animal, flower and a quilt associated with each time of the year: sheep and daffodil for spring, rabbit and poppy for summer, hound and sunflower for autumn and a stag and falling snow for winter.
Colors are soft and subdued, forming a delicate harmony. The piece can be stitched against any light neutral background of your choice. You could also consider a light blue or light green background fabric.
The chart includes a couple of fractional stitches, mainly for animal details. A tutorial is included with the chart these fractional stitches.
