Sitting on a cushion of seaweed at the bottom of the sea in the kingdom of Neptune, the little mermaid dreams of her prince charming. Seahorses keep her company. Her father's castle appears in the distance.
She is seen from the back, her face slightly turned. Her long red hair falls on her shoulders, reaching her hips, and contrasts with her very light skin.
The piece is cross stitched in a harmony of turquoise blue, water green and light brown. There is a double frame, a rectangle with an inner ring. Patterns of water nymphs, flowers, fish and seaweed surround the little mermaid.
