Fields and hedges wildflowers, with Faby Reilly

Take a walk across the fields and take in the beauty of one of the most humble flowers, the wild rose. Designer Faby Reilly is a true artist, placing a stitch at a time and making the flower come to life on the canvas. The wild rose comes in two formats, a needlebook and a scissor case, complete with scissor fob, so you can create a whole collection of stitcher's accessories.

New from Tam's Creations

The designer has just released two new patterns that, like her other work stand out as very personal designs and different from main stream cross stitching.

The puzzle is the second in Tam's Creations' series of free style cross stitching puzzles where you get to decide where to place each piece, as you complete the jigsaw. You can also change the format as you please. Each stitched model is truly unique.

Antique style needlework wallet

Muriel Berceville has assembled an extraordinary collection of antique samplers. A dedicated stitcher, she has undertaken to rechart them all as reproduction samplers.

The design below differs from the rest of the collection in that she has slightly adapted the cover of an existing 19th century sampler and converted it into a needlework wallet so that a modern stitcher can use the pattern as her own (English chart available). A handy organizer for all your needlework projects.

A day to remember, with Perrette Samouiloff

Old fashioned charm typifies this wedding keepsake in the shape of a small banner featuring the bride and grooms monograms and the date of the wedding. Perrette Samouiloff's little bridesmaids play in the garden surrounded by rose trees. Two doves fly off. A perfect day.

Catch of the day!

Fresh from the fishmarket, a rare cross stitch pattern showing fish lined up in the stall, skilfully designed by Monique Bonnin. We love the striking effects of the fish scales and the interesting shapes. Perfect for any projects related to food and cooking such as a chef's apron.

Embrace Art Nouveau style, needle in hand

Art Nouveau (French for New Art) flourished in the early 1900's, with new forms of art no longer limited to fine arts (such as painting) but covering a whole range of handcrafted materials such as ceramics and textiles. Kathy Bungard from Gracewood Stitches designs has long been interested in Art Nouveau themes, bringing us a beautiful range of patterns for cross stitching. The latest in the series is Wimsey, with intertwining flower stems and decorative borders in typical Art Nouveau style.

Divine needlework with Tam's Creations

Forget earthly worries and get to meditate with this stunning Buddha pattern brought to you by Tam's creations. The stitching is pretty zen too because it only involves full cross stitches and you get to stitch each of the tiny figures that compose the model, one at a time.

A tribute to everything American

This is an interesting new cross stitch pattern designed by Barbara Ana. Dated 1776 (though "stitched" in 1777), it features the American Flag flowing in the wind, Uncle Sam ready to take off and a discreet Betsy Ross, needle in hand, putting the finishing touches to the flag she has just sewn.

A tribute to everything American, and to all the women behind the great men.

In the spirit of vintage textiles

Carolina, Kathy Bungard's (Gracewood Stitches) latest design is inspired by the jacquard woven motifs found on antique coverlets and house linen used by the settlers in the Carolinas.

We love the fact that the pattern is so versatile. It is continuous, meaning that, like any piece of fabric, you can adapt the size to your own use. Second, you can also pick your own colors and fibers.
The beauty of the pattern is that you stitch the color background and the motif stands out where the fabric is left unstitched.

Are you stitching Barbara Ana's Snooty Parrots?

Many stitchers have already fallen in love with Barbara Ana's "Snooty Parrots" Sampler. It's quite a large piece and it's stuffed with interesting motifs and detail, not to mention a beautiful quote.

No cross stitched piece is ever the same and every stitcher's experience is unique. We would love to feature as many photos as possible of your finished pieces in a dedicated Snooty parrots gallery.

Even if you haven't yet finished stitching your piece, do send us a photo of a part you really enjoyed stitching!

To send your photo, simply use our contact form.
