This cross stich pattern features Dorothy, holding her pet cat Eureka, and her travel companions
- the Scarecrow, who wishes he had brains,
- the Tin Woodman, who longs for a heart,
- and the Cowardly Lion, in search of courage
Dorothy and her companions are on their journey to the Emerald City where they seek the Wizard of Oz, whom they believe will solve their problems.
The pattern also features the hot air balloon in which the wizard travels to and from Oz, as well as his magician's hat and glasses. The towers of the Emerald city can be seen in the distance in the center of the design.
The date 1900 refers to the year the Wonderful Wizard of Oz character originally appears book by L. Frank Baum.
