Moonlit Garden
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Gracewood Stitches
This cross stitch pattern is a variation of one of Gracewood Stitches' very first designs, A Night in May. When experimenting with the Assisi stitch, the designer thought of recreating the pattern in negative, as if the garden had lost all its colors, and was only lit by a ray of moonlight. The design is streamlined, with the focus on the beauty of the simple forms of flowers reproduced in the border motifs.
The Assisi stitch, worked as regular cross stitch, is a technique which consists in stitching only the background around the motif, letting the design stand out in white on the fabric, and thus creating a dimensional effect.
