Kathy Bungard, Gracewood Stitches' designer tells us about the pattern in her own words:

"Seaside" is the pattern for the month of August in my collection of designs for each
month of the year.
Each pattern will be approximately the same size so that they could be framed in equal
sized frames or compiled into a wall hanging.
In our part of the world August is the perfect time to visit the sea and enjoy its
delights, from shining aqua waves to the life beneath them.
 

Creative Poppy says:

A cool summer design with a small fish from the sea depths, looking a bit astonished. It's stitched in pretty turquoise colors and inspired by the movement of waves and seaweed.

This cross stitch pattern uses the Assisi style to maximise the way the floral motifs stand out against the white background of the fabric. The white is not actually stitched therefore emphasizing the outline of the design.

You may also enjoy stitching this piece in needlepoint (tent stitch) or tapestry on a loose canvas. In this case fill the voids with white thread.
