CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Gracewood Stitches
Kathy Bungard of Gracewoods Stitches:
"my tip of the hat to the design style of the Arts & Crafts artists of the late 1800's"
Creative Poppy says:
You can recognise artistic references to the Arts & Crafts movement, in the layout, in the simplfied forms, and in the inspiration of nature (central motif of the cricket and the almost Art nouveau flowers). As with many of the designers work, the design shows Asian influence, with the focus on the Korean window with a woodwork frame evocative of clouds that stands out against the distant mountain landscape.
This cross stitch pattern is designed on a white fabric background but you can consider other options such as a light natural color that will give the work a more antique feel. Always perform a floss toss as certain colors might need adjusting to ensure enough contrast.
For finishing, display in a vintage wooden frame, or mount as the central piece of a cushion cover.
