A cheeky cat reverses his poor master's fortunes and lands him a castle and a princess to wed.

The story told in cross stitch shows the oversize cat, dressed cavalier style in full attire: extravagant boots, wide brimmed hat with a large feather, close fitting doublet over a lace collar shirt and a large leather belt fastened around his waist.

He's returning from hunting, walking in long strides, having caught a rabbit and carrying a large bag. Standing at the castle's gate, with a big grin on his face, he's about to present the king with game, and trick him to think these gifts are on behalf of his master, the fictional Marquis of Carabas. 

Kyoko Maruoka's needlework is full of poetry. Nature is represented by a lovely patch of grass and flowers, with partridges blissfully unaware of the approaching cat. Framing the picture is a lovely floral border in light pastel colors. Look close and you will spot two little mice.
