Indeed in this work, designer Kyoko Maruoka explores the tragic fate of the beautiful young woman, looking for love and ending in despair. It features the heroine at her window, pensive, waiting longingly for her lover and reflecting on her life. She's featured surrounded by the walls of her house, as if it were a castle, shutting her away from the real world.

 

The piece is cross stitched in vivid colors, on a background of blue fabric linen. It's very colorful and evocative of Russian architecture, with the central arch acting as a frame.
