The Cherry Blossom Festival
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY The Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery
"Kawai" is the Japanese term meaning something like "cute" and "girlie", a trend that originated in Japan before spreading around the world.
Designers Amanda Jennings & Ashleigh Gilberson have come up with a "seriously cute" design featuring everything "kawai" in this cherry blossom festival: a girl in her kimono, with flowers in her hair, a sweet little dragon keeping her company, fans and other accessories, a lovely rice bowl with a colorful floral decor... and plenty more cute motifs for you to discover as you stitch along.
Like most Frosted Pumpkin Stitchery patterns, the piece was stitched on overdyed linen, with blue/green filaments woven into the fabric. It's up to you to select your favourite fabric but make sure it's dark enough that the white and lighter colors stand out against the fabric.
The chart includes:
- the original ABC design (photo)
- an extra chart with the inside left blank so you can customize the pattern with your own text using the alphabet provided.
Ideas for personalization:
- a room plaque with a little girl's name
- a fun phrase relevant to the girlie theme.
