Coromandel
COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART BY GRACEWOOD STITCHES
Kathy Bungard designer of Gracewood Stitches describes the pattern in her own words:
This cross stitch design is inspired by the beautiful Asian Coromandel screens, made of carved wood from India and coated in dark lacquer. One of Chanel's most gorgeous fragrances is their Coromandel, redolent of the patchouly shipped with the paisley shawls from the Coromandel coast.
The pattern lends itself to many stitching interpretations, adding or subtracting squares it works equally well as a cushion cover or a wall hanging.
