WILDFLOWER ABC
EMBROIDERY PATTERN
This embroidery pattern is a remarquable design by Agnès Calvet-Delage,an expert in needlework designer.
It features four wildflowers, framed by a traditional monogramm alphabet, of the kind that were hand-embroidered on white sheets, over a century ago.
The red poppy, worked in satin stitch stands out in the center. To its left a delicate angelica displays clusters of French knots on long thing stems. To the right the lightweight dandelion grains seem like they are about to blow off in the wind. At the base is the humble clover flower, with the caracteristic satin stitch clover leafs. The more you look into the design, the more interesting each part becomes to stitch, showing the huge attention the designer shows to detail.
The design includes detailed explanations and close-up photos of the embroidery showing the various stitches. The motif itself comes on two letter size pages. You will need to transfer the design onto the fabric of your choice using either carbon transfer paper, a transfer paper or tracing paper.
This pattern is only for the expert stitcher. The stitched effect is stunning, well worth the effort.
