A visit to town features a lady and a gentleman, elegantly dressed in colonial fashion, who have made the trip to a main city. The town must be prosperous. Indeed the stately houses of the town center, all huddled together, each feature a different style as if they were competing with each other to be the most attractive. Although the piece is entirely cross stitch, designer Barbara Ana plays with color to depict the individuality and specific character of each of the buildings. With various shapes of arches, windows, beam work, balconies and even loggias, there is an incredible amount of detail fitted into the design which makes it particularly interesting to stitch.

 

 

This piece was stitched on 32 ct. Blue Spruce Linen from Zweigart. Each part is stitched separately on a different piece of color linen from the Zweigart range. Parts where then assembled leaving an unstitched margin (8 to 10 stitch wide) on each side of bands.  We have provided a list of colors below should you want to stitch the whole piece.
