Here's Fair Philomel, by Barbara Ana Designs based on a quote of a play by William Shakespeare. Philomel is an ancient Greece heroine with a cruel destiny, recording the tragic event of her life on canvas and finally achieving peace by turning into a nightingale.

and in a tedious sampler sewed her mind."

This is a straightforward piece to stitch, involving cross stitch only. The pallet of threads is made of beautiful rich tones with a slightly faded look.
