Dreaming Frida
CROSS STITCH PATTERN READY TO DOWNLOAD, DESIGNED BY Barbara Ana Designs
In this new cross stitch tribute to Mexican woman artist, Barbara Ana pictures Frida Kahlo surrounded with elements reminiscent of the artist's life and passions, symbols of life and death, love, and a motto "Viva la vida" woven into her mane of black hair. Flowers grace the artist's white blouse and are woven into her hair. They also bloom in the arid Mexican desert, as the sun shines god-like over towering snow-covered volcanoes.
The cross stitch pattern lists 19 DMC floss colors and is stitched on 32 count Vintage Country Mocha (3009) Linen from Zweigart. You can also stitch it on any neutral color fabric and count of you choice.
The piece was finished as a zipped pouch (instructions not included with the chart). You can also frame the piece, in which case align the base of the embroidery with the frame and leave extra fabric showing above the stitched part, in the sky area. When framing, you can apply fabric and rick-rack to the base in a similar way as shown to adapt the piece to the frame.
