This cute Halloween design features three scenes that come on top of each other and tell a story. 

The top section the Black Cat Hollow shows a rolling landscape with a river. Witches are busying themselves, gathering fruit and harvesting pumpkins while another one, bundle in hand, is flying over the lake on her broom to visit her two friends on the other bank. On each side are trees, including a weeping willow overlooking two small graves nestled in a hollow. Two quirky-shaped houses are perched in the hills, all lit up and welcoming.

The middle section is where the cat appears center stage, sitting majestically on a hilltop and viewing us through yellow eyes. Next to him a witch waves her magic wand and a plant seems sprouts from a fountain, branches loaded with heavy fruit. On each sides, in the hilly landscape, two houses stand watch with all their lights on. Spiders are weaving their web all around them.

The lower band, is where you discover the house sitting in the hollow, with its graveled path leading to the door, welcoming bright windows and smoking chimney. Here too the witches are busy, one at her cauldron, two others crossing a lake on a boat. The hilly landscape is full of charm, with trees laden with fruit as well as flowers. Stars and small Quaker cross stitch patterns embellish the sky.

The background is illuminated by the moon and stars, with small quaker patterns fitted in between.

The cross stitch tones are soft and warm. The piece is stitched on Zweigart Granite linen, a light khaki that beautifully highlights the range of floss colors, greyish white, orange yellow, and a golden green, in contrast to the black silhouettes.
