Cannot match the tread

Cosmic energy
Don't fear this fierce looking beast. In China, dragons wield huge cosmic energy. This particular one is full of force and life. You'll have befriended him by the time you finish this piece!
Warm desert colors
Gold bracelets and pretty African prints, there's so much to enjoy stitching in this portrait of this pensive young lady. She'll look stunning once completed.
Learn the ropes
While many of Lesley Teare's patterns are basic cross stitch pieces, some designs incorporate a few fractional cross stitches. A typical combination would be a three-quarter cross-stitch combined with a quarter cross stitch in another color. These stitches are necessary when very fine definition is needed such as for delimitating a face and hair.
If you've never tried factional stitches before, or you are a little puzzled on how to proceed, Lesley's here to help!
Check out Lesley Teare's extensive cross stitch guide that comes with every pattern. It includes step by step tutorials for each and every fractional stitch and well as other helpful tips.
No surprises:
All pattern descriptions include detailed information about number of colors, size and materials used. To help you select the pattern that's right for you, we have specified for each design which stitches are used in the chart.
We hope you've enjoyed discovering the work of Lesley Teare and viewing her designs.

Celebrating O-Hanami (cherry blossom viewing)
Every year the Japanese celebrate the blossoming of cherries trees, gathering with friends for picnics and parties until late into the night under the pink blossoms.
Huge festivals take place, with food stalls selling all kinds of food. There's even a special name for it: O-Hanami (the viewing of Cherry Blossoms). Even in large cities such as Tokyo, women will sometimes wear beautiful kimonos with elegant spring patterns.
You too can celebrate O-Hanami with these pretty designs stuffed with lots of interesting detail.
Amazingly refined glasses case
With her minute sense of detail, Faby Reilly brings us a wonderful project that will be worth every stitch you put into it.
The exquisite Wild rose cross stitch pattern, complete with beaded details, comes with a companion tutorial that takes you through every step of stiffening, lining, and assembling both sides.
As the rose petals and motif are fully stitched with white to pink shades, you can select your very own background color for this project. Natural linen comes to mind but blue, grey or green shades of evenweave or linen would also look fantastic.

New reproduction Sampler, charted by Barbara Ana
A conspiracy is brewing here, the fluffy cat looks so worried and the stag is truly surprised, the two little feathered traitors, whispering and whispering, are up to no good...
This is the first reproduction sampler charted in cross stitch by Barbara Ana. The original sampler is from 1859 (pictured right) and has additional border motifs which have also been charted. It's quite rare to come across an antique sampler with a large cat such as this one.
