War of the buttons
COUNTED CROSS STITCH CHART
A pattern after the work of artist Erlé Ferronnière, transposed into cross stitch by Nimuë.
War of the buttons, Louis Pergaud's book and the films made after it, tell the story of a play-war between young boys of two neighbouring villages. Those who lost would have their buttons removed as trophies...
Here, with an added touch of humour, the fighting boys are elves, using their button trophies as shields, needles as swords and... thimbles as helmets!
